Rev Linda Chapman: Priest – “Open Sanctuary,” Tilba, NSW
Linda, an Anglican priest, founded Open Sanctuary, which meets regularly at the Anglican Church near Tilba, NSW. She nurtures the Christian contemplative way and dialogues with other faith traditions. Linda is active on the Diocesan Commission for the Environment; with an interest in Eco-theology, on which she lectures at St. Mark’s National Theological Centre in Canberra. A Spiritual Director, Linda is also married to Anthony and lives in paradise on the south coast of NSW.
Linda says: “We believe that some of the spiritual hunger of contemporary society may be fed through the contemplative tradition of the church. We hope to feed some of this hunger through the practice of the Open Sanctuary at Tilba, through silence and simplicity, thereby forming relationships with those beyond the church and meeting others in the common ground of our humanity that longs for an unknown God.”
