“All who have helped me: sometimes with advice, sometimes with information, sometimes with no more than a friendly nod or smile. They are too many to be named, and indeed some are unknown, anonymous fellow-walkers who pass the time of day and are gone. I must thank … a few special friends who would not ask for identification here, for making the way easier for me to travel. It has been a long and lonely way, but I have trodden it increasingly aware of the goodwill and encouragement of many kind people … And now … I have come to the end of it and my final task, a difficult one, is to find words adequate to express my appreciation to everybody who has helped. The least I can do, is to acknowledge my debt by this dedication.” - Alfred Wainwright MBE, Wilderness Walker and Artist (1913-1991)

  2. Many thanks Nick. Praise from you; a Master of Pencil-Drawing is high praise indeed! I shall try to post more sketches and undertake more paintings as time goes by. Kindest regards from Meath

Meath, I did not know that you are a talented artist as well. Wow! Nice work. Great to see all this. Would love to see more as well.

  4. Dandapani, it’s great to have your encouragement. These are just field-trip sketches really, but I love to do them, and, as you urge, I’ll get cracking with more as time becomes available. I just wish I had the talent for keeping the pictures in a proper order in this page! Anyway, thanks for your comment: much appreciated.
