Testimonials

Over the years I have received kind words from those with whom I have shared the spiritual path through counseling, workshops and retreats, or journeys in India, Nepal, Tibet and Bali. Here are just a few:

“Our journey to India confirmed that there was a gradual awakening, taking place over time; showing itself most clearly in Father Bede’s Shantivanam Ashram. As soon as I arrived, I knew this was the place for me; a sense of home and well being. Our small journey became a sign for a much larger, lifetime journey: to the heart of life. I thank Meath Conlan for his role in this, and the valiant small group who journeyed. Gratitude for you all: for laughter and play and merriment along the way. Love, JIM”

“Your desire to make this trip [2006] to India successful for the Elliott Family was reflected in the time you devoted to organizing all the details in this very foreign land. We felt cocooned and protected from all the inefficiencies and small disasters that can be part of the Indian experience. It all went like clock work. The whole experience more than met my expectations, and this is because of all the work and effort you put into our trip Meath. I will be talking widely about the experience and if there is interest expressed by those that listen, I will be recommending you as the master of ceremonies. Thanks again mate.”

“We all live with doubt, but most of us find it hard to admit our most serious doubts–especially to others, and even to ourselves. But talking with Meath Conlan, I discovered that it felt natural to talk not only about doubt but also belief, or the the search for it. In this process, Meath somehow is reassuring and questioning at the same time. Perhaps the best way to put it is that he knows how to reassure you while pushing you to ask rather than slide around the difficult questions.”

“Never be afraid to ask questions. The more questions you are willing to ask, the greater the chance of learning. For me, constant learning is the key to improvement and progress. Meath Conlan is a friend from whom I have learnt a lot in my life. He is a mentor of the highest degree. His wisdom, humility and guidance can be a person’s best friend.”

“I had the pleasure of going to India with Dr Meath Conlan in December 2007 . The trip was wonderful from start to finish. Meath made everyone feel like long time friends. He was also well situated with the businesses and holy sites we visited. Meath was not only a good tour leader, but drawing from his rich experience with Bede Griffiths, he is a gifted teacher as well.”

“My two-week journey to Tamil Nadu in southern India with Dr. Meath Conlan in was a marvellous experience on many levels.
Firstly I found the tour was well organised and well paced, without being too regimented.  The accommodations and transportation were excellent - clean, comfortable (some hotels were beautiful) and affordable. Secondly, we were immersed in Indian culture and history, especially through the wonderful local restaurants selected by Meath who guided us through the menus.  There were opportunities to enjoy Ayurvedic massage. Meath’s extensive knowledge of ancient Dravidian culture, the history of early Indian settlement , his knowledge of the various religions of India enhanced our visits to temples, ruins and museums. Thirdly and most importantly, on a spiritual level our visits to Shantivanam, a Christian ashram and the Hindu temple of Sri Ramana Maharshi along with Meath’s discussions on Raja Yoga offered opportunities to deepen and broaden my faith and personally experience the One Presence within. Meath’s guidance throughout the tour created a relaxed, fun, friendly, meaningful travel experience.”

“I am very happy to commend Meath Conlan as a tour leader. My journey with Meath in January was my sixth experience of India and it stands out as one of the most enjoyable and uplifting.  His contacts and grasp of the practical details of travelling in India combined with his concern for our comfort and well being left us free to benefit fully from the inspiring and sacred places he introduced us to.  I look forward to repeating the experience one day!”

“My family was fortunate enough to make a trip to India with Meath as our guide; there were a dozen of us. At all times I felt very safe and confident in Meath’s care.
Meath has extensive knowledge of India; it’s people, culture, customs and
the places to go. Meath was able to adapt to our needs, was friendly and a delight to be in his company. If we were to go back to Asia Meath would be the first one we would call.”

“During January 2006 we travelled through Southern India on a tour organised by Meath.  Some of the places visited in this tour were Pondicherry, Trichy , Shantivanam (which for us was the main attraction), Tanjore and Tiruvannamalai. This tour went smoothly which is an indication of Meath’s organisational skills.

Because of his knowledge of the Culture and Religions of India, and his ability to impart his knowledge, he helped make this trip a wonderful experience for us.  Within the overall itinerary he had the ability to include areas of particular personal interest to group members. Probably the greatest personal recommendation we can make is to say that went back again with him in January 2009.”
