Charities

Each person, body and soul, has a unique character, is a unique image of God, and that person will not dissolve. The more universal you become, the more deeply personal you become. You do not diffuse yourself, you do not lose yourself as you as you grow in knowledge, understanding and love – you extend. You do not cease to be a person. You become more deeply personal.                                         – Bede Griffiths, The Cosmic Revelation, p. 127

As a result of my long friendship with Bede Griffiths, I seek to support, in whatever way I can, those charities for the desperate poor that are carried on with his vision of the unity of human beings no matter their social or financial circumstances.

Some of the charities in India that I support include the following:

  • BLESS school for poor children at Inungur (a distance from Shantivanam)
  • Swami Bede Dayananda Trust: schools, trade-training centre, and elderly day care at Tannirpali Village (near Shantivanam)
  • Holy Cross Sisters: school for children of bonded laborers, creche for children of working single mothers, training centre for young former street-women in and around Bangalore

As well, I offer my services without charge to local Australian volunteer organisation that seek guidance and training for their membership in the contemplative arts:

  • Meditation and
  • Contemplation (Centering Prayer),
  • Stress Management.
